Walter C Crispens Jr. Walter "Pap" Cochran Crispens Jr., age 84, of Franklin Park, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 17, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his family. Pap was a wonderful, understanding and loving husband/father that honored God's words to take care of his family. The family always enjoyed special times during the holidays, and the many camping trips, campfires, hot dogs and popcorn. To his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren he was a teacher, a comedian, a friend and Santa's helper during the holiday. All the kids loved watching him be the locomotive conductor of his holiday train display. The kids always remembered his words of wisdom concerning God, life, friends and the value of money. Walt was born in West View, Pa. on February 22, 1930. He was the son of Walter C. Crispens Sr. and Edith Crispens. In his early years, Walter served with the Air National Guard in Pittsburgh. He worked most of his career for Bell Telephone in Pittsburgh. He was a Christian member of Memorial Park Evangelical Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed working on cars, lawn mowers, cutting grass and going shopping at night. He is survived by his wife, Shirley F. Crispens, whom he married in Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Baden Pa on May 22, 1954. He also leaves his three daughters, Debra Mitro and her husband, John of Cranberry Township Pa; Diane Elser and her husband Jeff of Cranberry Township; Darcie Davis and her husband Anthony of Cranberry Township; his son Dan Crispens and his wife Tamsen from Evans City, PA; and his sister Lois Polivka from Mars Pa. Pap is also survived by 10 grandchildren/spouses and 9 great grandchildren. Walter was preceded in death by his daughter, the late Darla Lee Crispens. He also had many loving friends that helped him either all or at special times in his life. A special thank you to Chuck Caye and Lisa Burrows for your friendship and special care. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 20th, at Simons Funeral Home located at 7720 Perry Highway Pittsburgh, Pa 15237. A service will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m.. Friday, November 21, 2014 at Memorial Park Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 900 Peoples Road, Allison Park, Pa 15101 with Rev Paul Becker.
